Induction to Pub Management Certificate

Covering three days training, this course starts with the management policies that ensures that licensees have the knowledge and understanding of their role and responsibilities the public expect them to exercise in managing their premises.

Learning Outcomes
Day 1 and 2 covers the following:-
  • Health and Safety at Work
  • Employment Law
  • The New Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO)
  • Financial Management
  • Drinks Service
  • Catering
  • Marketing
  • Customer Service
  • Cellar Management
Learning Outcomes:
Day 3 is devoted to the Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, which covers the syllabus set by Government, to enable candidates to understand the law in relation to the following.
  • The roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities within the framework of the licensing objectives.
  • The application process for a personal licence.
  • The role and legal responsibilities of the personal licence holder, and the penalties relating to failure to comply with the law.
  • The premises licence.
  • The content and purpose of operating schedules.
  • The role and duties of the designated premises supervisor.
  • Unauthorised licensable activities.
  • Permitted temporary licensable activities.
  • Rights of entry to licensed premises.
  • Police powers with regard to suspension and closure of licensed premises.
  • The specific prohibitions for the sale of alcohol.
  • The strengths of alcoholic drinks, and the effects of alcohol on the human body.
  • the protection of children from harm.
  • The responsible retail sale of alcohol.
Examination
  • Day 2 — The Induction Certificate to Pub Management
  • The examination is closed book with 15 multiple-choice questions.
  • To pass a candidate has to answer 11 questions correctly within the 45 minutes allowed.
  • The tutor marks the answer sheets and results are issued during the day.

  • Day 3 — The NCPLH Certificate
  • The examination is closed book with one paper of
  • 40 multiple-choice questions
  • Candidate has to answer correctly 28 or more questions within the 60 minutes allowed
  • Candidates normally receive their result within 7 working days
  • For those who do not achieve a pass, a re-sit will be required
On successful assessment of each unit candidates will receive.
  • Our Pub Management Induction Certificate.

  • A national qualification for the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holder, awarded by the EDI, recognised by licensing authorities as evidence of the applicant's knowledge and understanding of licensing law and the social responsibilities associated with running on and off-licensed premises.
